Sr. Specialist – Discovery Process Chemistry (P3)
Specific Responsibilities:
- Laboratory-based syntheses of starting materials and intermediates to support early pipeline.
- Perform lab work with a wide variety of chemicals using manual and automated equipment and analytical technologies, in a safe, compliant, and rigorously documented manner.
- Synthesize and characterize starting materials and intermediates to support kilo-lab scale-up of intermediates and APIs.
- Non-lab work: experimental planning, data analysis, and writing clear development reports.
Education (Minimum Requirements):
- B.S. with 9 years of pharma/biopharma experience, OR
- M.S. with 6 years of pharma/biopharma experience, OR
- Ph.D. in Chemistry.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Training in organic synthesis (synthetic methodology, catalysis, or total synthesis).
- Significant experience in chemical synthesis, compound purification, and analytical characterization (HPLC, MS, NMR).
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Ability to work effectively and with urgency in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Productivity and efficiency in an organic chemistry lab.
