Role Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the platform’s technical architecture to ensure scalability, security, and compliance.
- Migrate from single-tenant to multi-tenant architecture, enabling resource efficiency and client isolation.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to align technical solutions with business needs and platform vision.
- Design and implement a data abstraction layer supporting multiple database technologies and optimized data access.
- Build and maintain robust, scalable RESTful APIs and serverless functions.
- Serve as the primary technical lead for hosting infrastructure.
- Implement secure data handling practices for PHI and PII.
- Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging.
Qualifications (Might Be For You If You Have):
- 8+ years backend-focused professional software development.
- Production experience in regulated healthcare/life science/genetics domains.
- Expert JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3).
- Relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB/MongoDB) experience; designing REST APIs at scale.
- Microservices and distributed systems knowledge.
- Required: Experience handling PII/PHI and healthcare compliance (HIPAA, HITRUST).
- Security knowledge: OWASP Top 10, encryption, authz/authn, audit logging, encryption in transit/at rest.
- Deep AWS expertise (EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, VPC, IAM) and Infrastructure as Code.

- Bachelor’s in CS/Software Engineering or related (or 8+ years equivalent); 5+ years professional development; 2+ years senior/lead role; proven production-grade delivery.
