Job Description
Gilead Sciences Research Informatics is expanding and is seeking a coder/programmer to design, develop, and support applications enabling data workflows, logistics, scientific processes, and advanced analytics—at the intersection of software engineering and scientific innovation.
What You’ll Bring
- Full-stack web application development experience
- Proficiency in an object-oriented language (e.g., C#) with experience using React
- Strong working knowledge of SQL
- Experience in Agile development environments
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and provide user support
- Independence, strong time-management skills, and comfort working autonomously
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and provide application support for specific applications/solutions under general direction
- Configure and develop applications/solutions using functional specifications and system design specifications
- Support, test, and refine configurations during implementation and change management to meet business process needs
- Work with business and IT partners to enhance applications to reduce operating time or improve efficiency
- Prepare program-level and user-level documentation
- Assist with software configuration management, performance tuning, introduction, and training; follow predefined task lists
- Organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities to meet deadlines; identify and document business processes
- Work with customers to diagnose root cause and assess comfort with the application
Basic Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science (or related field)
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years relevant experience; OR Master’s degree with 2+ years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Good understanding and application of technical principles/theories/concepts
- Limited knowledge of other related disciplines
- Ability to use others as a sounding board for ideas and complex problems
