Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver major capabilities within the Discovery Platform, from customer interactive experiences to backend data systems that store, process, and serve complex scientific datasets. Manage full lifecycle: design, development, deployment, and ongoing operation.
- Work with bioinformaticians, biologists, and product teams to understand what customers are trying to learn from their results and why it matters.
- Collaborate on ETL pipelines and algorithms that transform raw instrument data into protein quantification results.
- Drive technical design and architecture decisions; uphold high standards for security, reliability, and scale. Mentor via thoughtful code review and technical dialogue.
- Use AI collaboratively across the software development lifecycle; prompt and critically evaluate AI-generated work; explore ways AI can improve building and operating software.
Qualifications:
- 5β7 years of relevant software engineering experience in a high-performing organization. Bachelorβs degree in computer science or related field required.
- Strong skills in Python/FastAPI, React/TypeScript, and AWS cloud services. Solid experience with relational databases and understanding of columnar data stores; familiarity with Parquet and AWS Athena is a plus.
- Customer-obsessed mindset; understand backend code as part of customer experience.

- Full lifecycle software design experience; strong observability practices.
