Senior Software Engineer, AI and ML Platforms

Role: Senior Software Engineer focusing on AI-driven SaaS platforms within Bio-Techne's life sciences software division. Objectives: lead design and development of scalable cloud-native microservices supporting AI features such as LLM assistants, recommendations, RAG pipelines, and automation workflows. Responsibilities: architect and deploy backend systems, develop APIs, implement MLOps practices, and ensure security and reliability in regulated scientific environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, data, and scientific staff to translate workflows into AI-enabled solutions, mentor junior engineers, and establish technical standards. Qualifications: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related with 5+ to 7+ years of relevant experience; proficiency in Python, Java, REST API frameworks, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), containerization (Docker), CI/CD, and AI integration; understanding of distributed systems, async processing, and MLOps. Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, vector databases, LangChain or LlamaIndex RAG frameworks, scientific or regulated environments, and multi-tenant SaaS architecture. Work setup: hybrid out of San Jose, CA.
