Position Summary / Responsibilities:
- Serve as SME for design, development, maintenance, and deployment of production AI agent systems (e.g., LangGraph/StateGraph, CrewAI multi-agent orchestration, LlamaIndex workflows).
- Build and maintain FastAPI-based agent servers (async/await, streaming, health checks).
- Implement comprehensive testing (unit, integration, edge-case, performance) for agents/services.
- Implement AI guardrails (validation, safety checks, prompt hardening, policy enforcement, robust error handling).
- Secure tool execution (least privilege, allowlists, secrets management, audit logging; protect against prompt injection/data exfiltration).
- Add observability (traces, tool-call telemetry, cost/latency budgets, SLO alerting) and monitor for safety/quality drift.
- Build RAG/retrieval pipelines using vector DBs (Chroma, Milvus, Weaviate, Qdrant).
- Create/maintain AI system documentation (ADRs, runbooks, API specs, diagrams, best-practice guides) and SOPs.
- Lead containerized deployment/qualification using Docker; mentor engineers; assist with cross-functional AI project planning.
Qualifications (Required):
- BS in CS/Software Engineering or related + 7+ years relevant software development.
- 3+ years Python (strong in Python 3.12+; type hints; async/await).
- 3+ years TypeScript.
- AI agent framework production/near-production experience (LangGraph/LangChain/CrewAI/LlamaIndex).
- Docker/containerized apps experience (multi-stage builds; foundational DevOps).
Preferred:
- Regulated/enterprise troubleshooting/optimization.
- Formal change control/compliance/audit experience.
Skills:
- Cross-functional collaboration; strong technical writing.
- Secure, production-grade AI service/infrastructure engineering.
- Observability and monitoring expertise; API security/error handling.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Discretionary bonus and equity.
- Base pay (National): $153,000–$170,000; Premium: $162,000–$180,000.
- Medical, dental, vision; PTO (incl. 11 holidays; unlimited for exempt / vacation for non-exempt); 401(k) match.
