Senior Software Engineer

Role: Senior Software Engineer developing application-level software for laboratory automation systems, including liquid handling and robotic devices. Responsibilities: design, develop, test, and support embedded and networked automation software; collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and cross-functional teams to define requirements; develop reusable tools, user interfaces, web services, and database solutions; troubleshoot production issues; participate in code reviews and continuous improvement within an ISO 13485 environment. Requirements: Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience; 5+ years in application software development for laboratory or industrial automation; extensive experience with robotics, sensors, servo motors, Java or similar object-oriented languages, embedded and real-time Java applications, source control (Git), and machine vision algorithms. Preferred: experience with Docker/Kubernetes, third-party hardware interfaces, databases (relational or NoSQL), and laboratory procedures in life sciences. High-Value: automation, laboratory systems, robotics, Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate), web services (REST), enterprise databases (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB), and data analytics. Collaboration involves manufacturing, product marketing, design teams, and customer care. Location: Bloomfield, CT, full-time, first shift; flexibility may be needed.
