Operations
Performs demolition and construction work on various types of ductwork, installs HVAC equipment, fabricates ductwork and ductwork hangers, and fabricates custom and specialty items not available from vendors. Works from drawings and sketches to perform layout work and duplicate samples as required.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Fabricate custom-made strainers using perforated steel, screening, and expanded metal.
- Work with plastics (Plexiglass, Lexan) and metals including hot/cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, magnesium, and exotic metals (tantalum, copper, monel, hastelloy).
- Use fabrication machines such as sheet metal shears, press brakes, hand brakes, and lock formers.
- Cut sheet metal to size using reciprocating saws, sabre saws, hand/power shears, and plasma cutters; join metals using spot welders.
- Comply with all applicable safety requirements for assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school education/equivalent and completion of an approved apprentice program or equivalent.
- 5β7 years of diverse commercial and industrial sheet metal experience.
- Ability to interpret mechanical diagrams and construction blueprints.
- Ability to understand and complete installations/modifications.
