Role Summary
Senior Set-Up Mechanic - Shift B (12 Hours) 3rd Shift. Set Up mechanic II serves as the subject matter expert for packaging resources, responsible for set-up, changeover, troubleshooting, and efficient operation of packaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Responsible for maintenance, repair, and reliability of packaging and filling machinery. Works a 12-hour rotating shift from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
Responsibilities
- Follow GMP and SOP guidelines; comply with safety/OSHA/FDA regulations.
- Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs on packaging equipment.
- Perform minor troubleshooting of electrical/mechanical issues.
- Coordinate with operations on packaging schedules and changeovers.
- Inspect and clean change parts; install change parts and set up bottle unscrambler/capper, adjust guide rails for bottle size.
- Set up and check slat counter and powder fillers; adjust HMI parameters as required.
- Set up and operate label, induction seal, and outsert machines; set cap torque as per PBR.
- Assist other maintenance staff on special projects or maintenance work as needed.
- Assist operations with line qualification/equipment qualification IQ/OQ/PQ.
- Maintain inventory of fast-moving spare parts for packaging equipment.
- Knowledge of Track and Trace system on label machine, 360 station, aggregation, and pallet station.
- Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
- Set automatic cap rejection center for high/crooked and no-cap foil rejection per bottle size.
Qualifications
- Education: High School or GED – Required
- Experience: 5 years or more in Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, maintenance repair
- Skills: Attention to detail; ability to read, write, and communicate in English; ability to understand and follow written and verbal procedures
- Additional Requirement: OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test completion
