In This Exciting Role, You Will
- Directly contribute to multiple stages of therapeutic development through rigorous design and/or implementation of high-dimensional functional genomics and cellular profiling assays, including in vitro and in vivo pooled/arrayed CRISPR screens, single-cell transcriptomics and lineage tracing, and experimental/in silico derived proteomic datasets.
- Perform statistically rigorous quantitative analyses while employing reproducible research and data integrity practices on large-scale biological datasets.
- Analyze, interpret, and summarize complex biological data; use data visualization tools to communicate findings.
- Identify, analyze, and integrate internal/external data and knowledge resources to enable data mining and actionable learnings for pipeline development.
- Develop and implement experimental and/or computational methods to integrate functional genomics screen findings and other datasets (RNA-Seq, DRUG-seq, WGS, CRISPR, single-cell RNA-Seq, proteomics, metabolomics) with additional biological data streams.
Represent Systems Biology Expertise In Cross-functional Teams
- Provide clear interpretation of high-dimensional data and propose candidates for further computational/biological interrogation.
- Translate biological hypotheses into experimental and/or computational interrogations of functional genomics and multi-omics profiles to drive iterative experimental design decisions.
- Collaborate across disciplines (genetics, chemistry, pharmacology, molecular and cellular biology) to accelerate therapeutics development.
Expand Your Knowledge And Grow Your Career
- Survey relevant literature on novel experimental/computational methods and introduce them into in-house workflows.
- Keep up to date on project-relevant literature and attend relevant conferences.
- Participate in workshops and seminars for professional development.
Required Education and Experience
- Ph.D. in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Genetics, Immunology, Mathematics, Molecular Biology, Statistics, or related field, plus 2 years of experience.
- OR Masterβs in related areas with 6+ years of experience.
Required Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated experimental and computational strategies and interpretation of large-scale biological data (sequencing modalities, pooled/arrayed CRISPR-based screens).
- Fluency generating/analyzing large-scale NGS datasets (e.g., RNAseq, WES, scRNAseq, spatial transcriptomics).
- Statistical hypothesis testing and machine learning concepts/methods.
- Experience integrating results from multiple data sources/omics and biological knowledge bases.
Technical Skills
- Fluency with experimental and computational methods for high-dimensional biological data; programming for statistical analysis (R, Rshiny, tidyverse, Python, MATLAB) and creating interpretable visualizations.
- Experience with cell culture, RNA/DNA extractions, sequencing library prep, molecular biology tools, and experimental design.
- Experience with HPC, AWS cloud computing, and Linux.
- Version control (Git/GitHub) and ability to adapt to existing analytic frameworks.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Understanding pros/cons of algorithms for DNA-seq, RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, and/or functional genomics.
- Familiarity with public repositories and public databases for DNA/RNA/protein/single-cell/functional genomics data.
- Experience extracting meaningful biological insights from high-dimensional readouts.
- Strong publication record.
Compensation/Benefits (if applicable)
- Salary range: $106,200.00 - $167,200.00.
