At Amgen Protein Therapeutics, Amgen is seeking a Scientist to develop and deploy novel synthetic biology and sequencing workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and execute integrated synthetic biology and NGS capabilities to advance large molecule programs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to enable fast design-build-test cycles and iterative learning at scale.
- Translate early-stage ideas into robust, high-throughput experimental workflows, including potential contributions to automation-enabled pipelines.
- Contribute to a collaborative team focused on scientific rigor, high-quality data generation/documentation, and clear communication.
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, Biochemistry, or related field
OR
- Masterโs degree and 2 years of scientific experience
OR
- Bachelorโs degree and 4 years of scientific experience
Required Qualifications:
- Strong practical/theoretical experience in molecular/synthetic biology.
- Experience in Next Generation Sequencing.
- Ability to optimize experiments and troubleshoot molecular biology workflows.
- Clear communicator and collegial collaborator in a fast-paced lab environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience/exposure to laboratory automation and scripting.
- Laboratory management experience (e.g., equipment maintenance, reagent supply, LIMS, capacity planning).
- NGS data analysis and/or high-throughput sample management and large-volume data analysis/documentation.
