Clinical Research and Development
Location/Work setup: Onsite in Cambridge, MA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform common and rare variant association studies (including large-scale all-by-all) using biobank-scale data to identify/prioritize RNAi therapeutic targets.
- Lead cross-biobank meta-analyses integrating internal and public summary statistics (maximize power, replication, trans-ancestry discovery).
- Use post-GWAS methods to nominate causal genes/therapeutic hypotheses (fine-mapping, colocalization, Mendelian randomization, functional annotation integration).
- Drive methodological innovation (multi-omics integration, polygenic modeling, rare variant aggregation, AI/ML-enabled prioritization).
- Establish best practices for data organization, knowledge management, and results dissemination.
- Increase external visibility via publications, conferences, and collaborations.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Statistical Genetics (or related) with 3+ years relevant postdoc/industry experience.
- Expertise in statistical genetics (GWAS/RVAS; single-variant testing, burden tests, SKAT; tools such as REGENIE, PLINK).
- Experience with individual-level biobank-scale genetic/phenotypic data; novel discovery track record.
- Multi-biobank analysis/meta-analysis experience (METAL, RAREMETAL, REMETA) including sample-overlap handling.
- Variant-to-gene post-GWAS expertise (fine-mapping, colocalization, Mendelian randomization).
- Scalable tools for multivariate, time-to-event, longitudinal, and diverse datasets.
- QC on WGS/WES/imputed data; phenotype generation and cross-biobank harmonization.
- Proficiency in Linux; strong Python and R; cloud genomics workflows (DNAnexus, All of Us Workbench, Terra).
- Strong communication/collaboration skills; high-impact publication record.
Compensation & Benefits (as stated): $126,400β$189,600 base; eligible for annual short-term incentive and long-term incentive (e.g., equity).
