Senior Scientist (Small Molecule, Synthetics)
What You Will Do
- Provide functional-area strategies and craft/execute DOE’s during development of pivotal and commercial-ready programs.
- Apply deep expertise in organic chemistry and molecular assemblies to develop innovative, fast-paced approaches as part of cross-functional teams.
- Interface within Drug Product Team (DPT) and with Drug Substance Technologies, Attribute Sciences, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Contract Manufacturing, Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, etc.
- Design/execute experiments to support drug product development objectives.
- Summarize results in technical documents, regulatory filings, and presentations.
- Engage with external industry groups (e.g., IQ Consortium) and academic partners (e.g., university consortia).
- Provide technical expertise on structure, reactivity, and physicochemical properties of materials (drug substance, excipients, etc.).
What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD (or PharmD/MD) [and relevant post-doc where applicable]
OR Master’s + 3 years scientific-related experience
OR Bachelor’s + 5 years scientific-related experience
Preferred Qualifications (highlights):
- PhD in Organic/Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Strong small-molecule/solid-state expertise; prior pharma/oral solid dosage form experience
- Characterization knowledge (XRPD, DSC, TGA, SEM); solid-dosage science and oral OSD unit operations
- Independent research/formulation, publications, cross-functional collaboration, technical writing
