Senior Scientist (Physical Sciences R&D) – radiopharmaceuticals

Key Accountabilities
- Serve as a technical lead for assigned projects/workstreams; drive experimental strategy, execution, and interpretation with limited oversight.
- Apply advanced scientific judgment to design, optimize, and troubleshoot complex radiochemical and analytical processes.
- Identify scientific risks, propose mitigation strategies, and adapt approaches based on experimental findings.
- Independently design, execute, and document experiments supporting radiopharmaceutical discovery and development.
- Lead synthesis and optimization of novel bifunctional chelators and radiolabeled compounds.
- Develop, validate, and refine advanced radioanalytical methods (e.g., radio-TLC, HPLC) for characterization, release, and stability studies.
- Evaluate and implement improvements to increase robustness, sensitivity, and throughput.
- Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and cross-disciplinary R&D teams; provide scientific input for project decisions.
- Analyze complex datasets; author/review technical reports, development summaries, and presentations.
- Support GxP, regulatory, and tech-transfer documentation as applicable.
- Ensure proper operation/calibration/qualification of laboratory equipment; promote safety and data integrity.
- Mentor and guide junior scientists; share expertise and lessons learned.

Education & Experience
- PhD + 5 years, MS + 6 years, or BS + 8 years relevant industry or post-doctoral experience.
- Demonstrated experience with radioactive materials in R&D and/or GMP-adjacent environments.

Technical Expertise / Skills
- Advanced synthetic organic chemistry and radiochemistry.
- Strong experience with radioanalytical methods (radio-TLC, HPLC).
- Expertise in statistical experimental design and structured problem solving (e.g., Six Sigma).
