Senior Scientist (Physical Sciences R&D)

Key Accountabilities
- Serve as technical lead for assigned projects/workstreams; drive experimental strategy, execution, and interpretation with limited oversight.
- Design, optimize, troubleshoot, and document complex radiochemical and analytical processes.
- Independently design and execute experiments supporting radiopharmaceutical discovery and development.
- Lead synthesis and optimization of novel bifunctional chelators and radiolabeled compounds.
- Develop/validate/refine radioanalytical methods (e.g., radio-TLC, HPLC) for characterization, release, and stability studies; improve robustness, sensitivity, and throughput.
- Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and R&D teams; provide scientific input for decision-making.
- Analyze complex datasets; author/review technical reports, development summaries, and presentations; support GxP/regulatory/tech-transfer documentation.
- Ensure equipment operation/qualification and promote lab safety, radioactive material handling, and data integrity.
- Mentor junior scientists and share expertise.

Education & Experience
- PhD + 5 years, MS + 6 years, or BS + 8 years relevant industry or post-doctoral experience.
- Experience working with radioactive materials in R&D and/or GMP-adjacent environments.

Technical Expertise/Capabilities
- Advanced synthetic organic chemistry and radiochemistry; experience with radioanalytical methods (radio-TLC, HPLC).
- Statistical experimental design, data interpretation, and structured problem solving (e.g., Six Sigma).
- Strong written/verbal communication; ability to influence without authority in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
