Senior Scientist, Quality Control
Responsibilities:
- Perform testing of raw materials, in-process and finished pharmaceutical dosage forms, stability samples, and cleaning verification samples per written procedures and applicable SOPs.
- Conduct physical and chemical analyses using analytical methods and comply with cGMP/SOPs/STPs and regulatory requirements.
- Calculate and report results on specification documents; document analysis steps and review records for completeness and specification compliance.
- Participate in method transfer, process validation, and cleaning validation/verification testing.
- Participate in investigations of laboratory results; report abnormal findings to the Supervisor.
- Assist with analytical, instrument, and software troubleshooting; identify trends in analytical data.
- Calibrate and/or perform calibration of HPLC, dissolution apparatus, GC, and other assigned equipment; ensure expired chemicals and reference standards are removed.
- Assist with hands-on training of newly hired Technicians/Scientists 1 and 2.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques (spectrophotometric, dissolution/drug release, chromatographic standalone/hyphenated) and physical parameter measurements (e.g., laser diffraction, DSC, TGA, XRPD).
- Ability to follow compendial procedures (USP/EP/BP/JP).
- Understand and apply cGMP requirements for a QC laboratory.
- Strong advanced troubleshooting skills for complex analytical/instrument problems; ability to report timely actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
- 60 months of experience in the position or a related position.
Job Location: Piscataway, NJ.
Salary: $115K–$120K per annum.
Hours: 40 hrs/wk, 8:30am–5:30pm.
