Role: Senior Scientist focused on developing a novel platform technology for small molecule drug discovery within an early-stage biotech startup. Responsibilities: design, construct, and functionally interrogate large protein variant libraries using deep mutational scanning and display systems; optimize workflows linking genotype to phenotype; validate library outputs biochemically and biophysically; and translate experimental data into actionable insights. Qualifications: Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with 5+ years industry or postdoctoral experience; expertise in library-scale mutagenesis, protein display (e.g., yeast, mammalian, phage), high-throughput sorting (FACS), and next-generation sequencing (Illumina, PacBio); experience with protein expression, purification, assay development, and bioinformatics; familiarity with machine learning or statistical analysis is a plus. HighValue: innovative platform for small molecule discovery, deep mutational scanning, protein engineering, high-throughput workflows, and multidisciplinary collaboration. WorkSetup: early-stage startup environment with ownership, opportunity to influence scientific direction, and a collaborative culture.
