Role: Process engineer/scientist specializing in formulation development of RNA lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for genetic medicines at Lilly’s Boston site. Objectives include designing, executing, and optimizing RNA-LNP formulations, scaling manufacturing processes, and supporting clinical trial supply production. Responsibilities encompass developing LNP formulations, characterizing critical quality attributes, conducting stability studies, and facilitating technology transfer to manufacturing sites. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across discovery, analytical, API development, and manufacturing functions, as well as external partners. Qualifications: Bachelor’s in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biomedical or chemical engineering with 4+ years' industry experience; hands-on expertise in RNA-LNP formulation, process development, and downstream processing (e.g., TFF, sterile filtration); GMP familiarity and strong analytical skills. Preferred: Master’s degree with 1+ years’ relevant experience, additional characterization methods, and experience with process scale-up and tech transfer. High-Value: Focus on nonviral delivery systems, RNA payloads (mRNA, siRNA), early clinical phase development, regulatory compliance, and GxP environment. The position is based in Boston, with responsibilities supporting early-phase clinical manufacturing and external vendor interactions.
