Key Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and operational guidance for molecular cloning, overseeing design and delivery of complex plasmid and expression constructs using Gibson, Golden Gate, and In-Fusion cloning with scalable automation-tailored workflows.
- Lead development and enhancement of high-throughput construct generation platforms by integrating robotic systems and innovative technologies to expand capacity and reduce cycle time in gene-to-protein workflows.
- Direct implementation and refinement of automated sequence verification workflows, including CRO management for high-quality data generation; oversee sample quality control for data accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with Research Informatics and cross-functional teams to establish standardized, compliant nucleic acid data registration workflows, streamline operations, and strengthen digital connectivity.
- Supervise continuous improvement of the Protein Therapeutics DNA repository to maintain a reliable, scalable, governed plasmid inventory and archival system for mammalian cell transfection activities.
- Liaise with external CRO partners to streamline ordering/delivery and reduce DNA readiness timelines.
- Provide scientific contributions and data for publications, patent submissions, and presentations; present findings to project teams and senior management.
- Mentor and develop team members.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years with BS OR 6+ years with MS OR 0+ years with PhD/PharmD.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. with postdoctoral training and 3+ years industry experience (or M.S. 12+ years / B.S. 15+ years).
- Deep expertise in molecular cloning/DNA assembly and protein expression construct design (Gibson, Golden Gate, In-Fusion).
- Experience developing/optimizing/scaling high-throughput molecular biology workflows.
- Automation experience (robotic platforms/related technologies).
- DNA repository/plasmid inventory/sample archival experience.
- CRO management experience.
- Cross-functional experience with informatics/automation; data integrity and workflow standardization.
- Competency in Geneious Prime, GeneData Biologics, and other bioinformatics tools; Python/Excel macros a plus.
- Strong organization, independent multi-program execution, data management/problem-solving, and verbal/written communication; supervisory experience expected.
Compensation & Benefits (as stated)
- Salary range: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00; may include discretionary bonus, long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
