Role Summary

Senior Scientist, Metabolomics. We are seeking an enthusiastic, curious, and highly motivated individual with experience in metabolomics and bioanalytical LC-MS to join our Translational Profiling group within the Discovery Sciences department in Cambridge, MA. The role involves collaboration across project teams and disease areas to advance drug discovery programs and evaluate innovative technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute analytical studies in collaboration with project partners to address key scientific questions in drug discovery programs.
  • Execute all aspects of analytical studies including sample preparation, LC-MS analysis, and data processing and analysis.
  • Document work using internal documentation systems.
  • Present key experimental outcomes to project teams and plan follow-up steps.
  • Develop and implement new LC-MS methods based on project needs.
  • Assess and implement state-of-the-art analytical methodologies to augment the groupβ€šΓ„Γ΄s technology portfolio and elucidate metabolism in disease and response to therapeutics.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related field (postgraduate experience a plus), or a MS/BS with 8+ yearsβ€šΓ„Γ΄ experience, preferably in pharma/biotech.
  • Experience in biological mass spectrometry and metabolomics, including quantitative targeted/multi-targeted LC-MS analyses of endogenous small molecules and metabolic profiling of complex matrices.
  • Experience in sample preparation and extraction protocols from cells, tissues, and biofluids for MS analysis of endogenous small molecules.
  • Proven experience documenting experiments and results in electronic lab journals or LIMS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with independent thinking.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work in a matrix environment and build partnerships across teams.
