Role: Pharmaceutical Materials Scientist focusing on physicochemical characterization of drug substances and excipients to support pipeline development from discovery to commercialization. Responsibilities: perform advanced materials characterization (e.g., X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, electron microscopy), address scientific challenges related to crystallization, polymorph and salt-selection, amorphous dispersions, and stability; collaborate cross-functionally with Discovery, Process Chemistry, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams; contribute to regulatory documentation and late-stage product development. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences with at least 5 years of industrial experience, or PhD in a related field; expertise in materials characterization techniques; strong publication record; self-motivated and creative. Preferred: experience with API polymorph screening, amorphous solid dispersions, modified release formulations, digital tools in experimentation, and regulatory filings. High-Value: focus on small molecule APIs; emphasis on physical stability, crystallization, polymorphs, and excipient compatibility within a GxP environment. Stakeholder interaction across R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing. Work setup: onsite in the US with 10% travel.
