Senior Scientist β Manufacturing Science (API External Manufacturing)
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for reliable, compliant manufacture of the API EM portfolio (raw materials, intermediates, enzymes, bulk drug substances).
- Execute technical projects (experimental work, modeling, production data analysis) to improve process control, yield, purity, and/or productivity.
- Independently set up and run laboratory-scale experiments; conduct TS/MS research for process improvements and troubleshooting.
- Support technical documentation: technical reports, change controls, regulatory submissions, deviation investigations, validation protocols/summary reports, processing records, procedures, PFDs, VMPs.
- Develop/monitor real-time process variability and capability metrics.
- Justify/document validation state (process and cleaning) using data to meet intended purpose.
- Ensure accurate instruction sets and PFDs describe performed process and control strategy.
- Support internal/joint process teams and global/local PLOT teams.
- Independently set up/execute chemical reactions; design well-objectified experiments; analyze data with proper documentation; follow safe lab practice/CHP; write technical reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in biochemistry, organic chemistry, chemical engineering, physical chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, or analytical chemistry.
- 3+ years industrial experience in API Manufacturing, TS/MS, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Development.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time; no visa sponsorship.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of small molecule API manufacturing.
- Familiarity with cGMP environment/terminology.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, prioritization, judgment, and flexibility.
Other:
- Complete API EM TS/MS Scientist learning plan; no certifications required.
- PPE required; travel up to ~20%.
Compensation/benefits (as stated):
- Anticipated wage: $66,000β$171,600; company bonus eligibility; comprehensive benefits including 401(k), pension, vacation, medical/dental/vision, flexible benefits, life/death benefits, time off/leave, and well-being benefits.
