Role Summary
Senior Scientist with expertise in lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation and application of LNPs to mouse models to join the LNP Discovery team focused on developing non-viral delivery systems for cystic fibrosis therapies. Design and characterization of LNPs for in vivo delivery of Prime Editor RNA molecules, with hands-on in vivo work in pulmonary delivery studies. Opportunity to contribute across the full spectrum of LNP development, from formulation to in vivo delivery, within a collaborative, interdisciplinary cross-functional program team.
Responsibilities
- Design and formulate LNPs using microfluidics; characterize using DLS, zeta potential, pKa, and Ribogreen assays.
- Execute and support in vivo studies focused on pulmonary delivery of LNP formulations including intratracheal delivery in preclinical models.
- Collaborate with internal teams on study design, execution, data collection, and interpretation.
- Support downstream analyses using flow cytometry and molecular biology techniques.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate in vivo findings into delivery platform development.
- Present data in written reports and oral presentations.
Qualifications
- PhD in Biomedical/Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience (or BS+8, MS+6).
- Experience with lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation, QC, and characterization techniques
- Hands-on experience with mouse handling, dosing, and tissue collection; intratracheal delivery strongly preferred.
- Familiarity/experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., qPCR, DNA sequencing, mammalian cell culture, and flow cytometry preferred).
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to thrive in a cross-functional setting.
