Role Summary
Senior Scientist specializing in laboratory automation for Purification Process Development. Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automation systems; integrate robotics and automated liquid handling into purification workflows; develop automated data acquisition and analysis capabilities; mentor junior scientists and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance pipeline projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of laboratory automation systems for the purification process development group.
- Spearhead the integration of robotics and automated liquid handling systems into purification workflows.
- Implement automated data acquisition and analysis systems for automated purification platforms.
- Maintain and improve high-throughput purification process development workflows.
- Collaborate within the function and with cross-functional teams to implement lab automation solutions.
- Develop purification process development knowledge and contribute to pipeline projects.
- Mentor junior scientists in laboratory automation techniques and applications.
Qualifications
- Required: PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related fields; or MS with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or BS with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- Required: Ability to work as part of a diverse cross-functional team.
- Required: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Required: Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Required: High level of scientific curiosity and an innovation mindset.
- Preferred: Experience with robotics and/or automation in a laboratory setting.
- Preferred: Proficiency in programming languages relevant to robotic systems, laboratory automation, or data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW).
- Preferred: Experience integrating robotic systems with analytical instrumentation.
