Key Responsibilities
- Independently design, establish, optimize, and execute pre-clinical acute/chronic rodent in vivo studies for cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic diseases.
- Perform animal handling, dosing, blood collection, tissue biopsy sampling.
- Conduct small-animal survival/non-survival surgeries; specialize in minipump implantation, telemetry implantation, and rodent vessel cannulation.
- Perform non-invasive and invasive cardiovascular phenotyping (e.g., echocardiography, pressure–volume loop assessment).
- Analyze, interpret, and report in vivo data; ensure rigor/reproducibility (controls, powering, randomization, endpoints).
- Execute hypothesis-driven discovery integrating in vivo functional endpoints with molecular/cellular/biochemical readouts.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to advise on model/endpoint strategy and support target validation/proof of mechanism/proof of concept.
- Maintain electronic lab notebook documentation; ensure animal welfare/IACUC compliance; contribute to shared lab responsibilities and scientific communication.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s (7 years), Master’s (4 years), or Ph.D. in Biology/Physiology/Pharmacology/Biomedical Sciences or related field with relevant academic/industry experience.

Required Skills/Experience
- Extensive rodent in vivo experience focused on cardiovascular and/or renal disease.
- Proficiency in survival surgeries/post-operative care; cardiovascular phenotyping (echocardiography, invasive hemodynamics, telemetry); renal functional assessments (e.g., GFR, serum/urine biomarkers, metabolic cages).
- Ability to design, execute, and interpret complex in vivo studies with minimal supervision.
- Strong cardio-renal disease biology/physiology; track record of scientific productivity; excellent written/verbal communication.

Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with PK/PD and translational biomarker strategies; complementary in vitro/ex vivo assays; industry/advanced discovery experience.
