Purpose
In Vivo Pharmacology group in South San Francisco, CA seeks an in vivo pharmacologist with experience developing biologic antigen-directed therapeutics (antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates). Supports in vivo strategy and coordination for oncology pipeline projects, including tumor model selection, study design, hands-on data collection, analysis, and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Independently conceive and execute in vivo experiments using human tumor models (CDX, PDX, orthotopic) in immunocompromised mice.
- Strategize, design, execute, and analyze in vivo studies to assess efficacy, PK, and PD of novel therapeutics.
- Manage study operations: coordinate study designs, timelines, and resources.
- Critically evaluate scientific literature/external resources and apply innovative concepts, methods, or technologies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally; present findings to project teams/governance bodies; prepare technical reports.
- Work with external contract research organizations to advance oncology disease understanding.
- Adhere to IACUC protocols for animal welfare and handling.
- Mentor and guide one or more scientists (people-management depending on experience).
Qualifications
- BS with 12+ years; MS with 10+ years; or PhD with 4+ years in relevant areas. Degree in cancer biology, immunology, pharmacology, or related field; extensive hands-on in vivo tumor model execution; drug development experience in pharma/biotech highly desired.
- Proficient hands-on in vivo tumor model development: tissue harvesting, tumor inoculation, and dosing via SC, IP, PO, IV.
- Extensive oncology/tumor biology knowledge; proven publication record.
- Strong critical thinking for study planning, execution, and troubleshooting.
- Proactive, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to build relationships in a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and motivation to learn new techniques.
