Responsibilities:
- Lead and support new peptide product development from an analytical perspective, partnering with cross-functional teams to advance projects through the development pipeline.
- Support peptide product development with advanced analytics to drive the pipeline and impactful research initiatives.
- Conduct R&D studies on synthetic-molecule drug substances, impurities, and impurity profiling using a range of analytical techniques.
- Perform laboratory research and/or method development with minimal direction.
- Initiate scientifically meaningful investigations that can be incorporated into research or development programs.
- Formulate conclusions and design follow-on experiments based on multidisciplinary data.
- Process, interpret, and visualize data to facilitate project team decisions.
- Demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity; maintain high lab productivity.
- Develop and implement analytical control strategies (method development, testing procedures) to advance drug discovery candidates.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in Analytical Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences (Analytical Focus). Typically 12 (BS), 10 (MS), or 4 (PhD) years related industry experience.
- Strong peptide development background; excellent analytical problem-solving skills; ability to independently develop and troubleshoot analytical methods.
- Preferred: HPLC analysis and method development; expertise in spectroscopic techniques for peptide/small-molecule development.
- Comfortable discussing organic chemistry topics for analytical R&D (stereoisomers, functional groups, pKa); hands-on synthetic organic chemistry preferred.
- Experience using computerized data handling systems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work with interdisciplinary scientists and engineers.
Benefits:
- Paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees.
- Eligible to participate in long-term incentive programs.
