Senior Scientist II – CMC Developmental Sciences (100% onsite), AbbVie Biotherapeutics Inc., South San Francisco, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on CHO cell line development, characterization studies, cell culture process development, and/or protein purification to advance novel biotherapeutics into human clinical studies.
- Implement and interpret preclinical data using molecular markers/platforms such as flow cytometry, IHC, next generation sequencing, microarrays, and others.
- Train colleagues in established methodologies, assay troubleshooting, and development of novel techniques.
- Develop scientific presentations and reports for internal review meetings and external collaborators.
Qualifications:
- MS in Cell & Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or Chemical Engineering + 3 years academic/industry lab research experience.
- 3 years in: (i) cell line/cell culture development using cell/molecular biology (including signaling and tumor/immune cell interactions); (ii) bioreactor processes, cell culture optimization, and molecular biology techniques; (iii) lab automation; (iv) sample prep/data analysis for next generation sequencing; (v) developing novel assays; (vi) leading cell culture process optimization; (vii) training/mentoring junior scientists/students.
- Alternatively: PhD in the same fields + 1 year lab research experience; must have 1 year in (i)-(vii).
