Role Summary
Senior Scientist II in CMC Developmental Sciences. Conduct hands-on CHO cell line development, characterization, and cell culture process development or protein purification to advance biotherapeutics into human clinical studies. Implement and interpret data from preclinical studies and train colleagues in established methodology, troubleshooting of assays, and development of novel techniques. Develop scientific presentations and reports for internal review meetings and external collaborators.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on CHO cell line development, characterization studies, cell culture process development, or protein purification in a dynamic environment to advance novel biotherapeutics into human clinical studies.
- Implement and interpret data from preclinical studies including molecular markers and platforms such as flow cytometry, IHC, next generation sequencing, microarrays, and others.
- Train colleagues in established methodology, troubleshooting of assays, and development of novel techniques.
- Develop scientific presentations and reports for internal review meetings and external collaborators.
Qualifications
- Required: MS in Cell & Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or Chemical Engineering, and 3 years of academic or industry laboratory research experience.
- Required: 3 years of experience performing cell line and/or cell culture development, with knowledge of cell/molecular biology research, signaling, and tumor/immune cell interactions.
- Required: 3 years of experience performing bioreactor processes, cell culture optimization, and molecular biology techniques.
- Required: 3 years of experience working with lab automation.
- Required: 3 years of experience engaging in sample preparation and data analysis for Next Generation Sequencing.
- Required: 3 years of experience developing novel assays by applying cell culture and molecular biology knowledge.
- Required: 3 years of experience leading scientists to perform Cell Culture Process Optimization.
- Required: 3 years of training and mentoring junior scientists or students in an academic lab.
- Preferred: PhD in Cell & Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or Chemical Engineering, and 1 year of academic or industry laboratory research experience.
Education
- MS in Cell & Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or Chemical Engineering, with 3 years of academic or industry laboratory research experience, or PhD in the same fields with 1 year of academic or industry laboratory research experience.
