Job Description
- Conceive and execute novel scientific research or development to achieve project and area goals. Generate new scientific proposals and lead those efforts. Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods and techniques. Act as a lead scientist and integrate scientific and regulatory advances into research/development programs.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve key project hurdles and assumptions using available information and technical expertise.
- Develop and validate mechanistic and hybrid models for CHO cell culture and downstream purification unit operations; support first-in-human and late-stage teams.
- Lead AI capabilities for natural language-driven problem solving with models.
- Build and maintain computational guidance/workflows; work with IT to build computing infrastructure.
- Use AI to streamline and automate model building; enable automated documentation and knowledge management interfaces.
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
- Proactively incorporate relevant literature updates into projects/program.
- Pursue project-relevant leads aligned with group strategy.
- Adhere to corporate standards for code of conduct, safety, material handling, controlled compounds, GxP, and animal care (as applicable).
- May mentor/supervise a small team and be accountable for performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s (12 yrs), Master’s (10 yrs), or PhD (4 yrs) in relevant field.
- Thorough theoretical and practical understanding of scientific discipline.
- Effective writer/communicator of research and regulatory materials.
- Protein homology modeling and AI/ML QSAR prediction preferred.
- Strong programming skills (Python, shell); HPC and/or cloud experience highly preferred.
