Senior Scientist I โ siRNA Therapeutics (BGM, South San Francisco site)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute in vitro siRNA discovery and proof-of-concept (target validation, assay development/optimization, siRNA screening, lead optimization, mechanism-of-action studies) for oncology programs.
- Develop, validate, and run robust in vitro screening funnels for hit-to-lead (e.g., 96-well RNA isolation, qPCR, westerns, ELISA, flow cytometry, reporter assays, RNA-seq, microscopy).
- Identify and resolve biological/technical pitfalls (siRNA activity, delivery, stability, on-target/off-target effects).
- Maintain organized ELNs; ensure scientific rigor, reproducibility, and data integrity.
- Author internal technical reports/regulatory documents; contribute to conference proceedings, manuscripts, and/or patents.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or related field; typically 0โ3 (PhD), 8+ (MS), or 10+ (BS) years relevant experience.
- Preferred: RNA biology/therapeutics industry or postdoctoral experience.
- Strong hands-on molecular biology skills (stem-loop RT-qPCR, RT-qPCR) for siRNA quantification and mRNA knockdown.
- Extensive mammalian cell culture and transfection experience; animal tissue experience a plus.
- Ability to learn new techniques; strong data analysis/critical thinking.
- Strong communication, presentation, multitasking/organization; highly independent.
Desired Qualifications:
- Tumor intrinsic biology/immune oncology; tumor model experience.
- Extrahepatic oligonucleotide delivery tech, especially antibodyโoligonucleotide conjugates (AOCs).
- Strong publication track record; thrive in fast-paced collaboration.
Benefits (as stated): paid time off; medical/dental/vision insurance; 401(k) (eligible); short-term incentive program eligibility.
How to Apply:
- Submit a resume highlighting direct contributions to siRNA programs.
