Senior Scientist I, Biotherapeutic Production Technologies

Role: Senior Scientist I leading protein production, purification, and characterization in drug discovery and platform initiatives. Responsibilities: independently design and execute complex workflows for mammalian and cell-free expression; optimize scale-up and troubleshoot; develop chromatography-based purification protocols; select and interpret analytical methods for protein quality assessment; integrate data to troubleshoot and inform technical decisions; serve as a point of contact in cross-functional collaborations; lead external vendor interactions; advance scalable, automated workflows using AI/ML tools; develop technical standards and mentor colleagues. Requirements: Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field with 4+ years industry experience, or B.S./M.S. with 12+ years; expertise in protein expression, purification, and analytical characterization; experience with mammalian and cell-free systems; strong cross-functional communication skills. Nice to Have: experience with stable cell lines, molecular biology workflows, complex protein modalities, and automation tools.
