Clinical Research and Development
Senior Scientist, Analytical and Purification Sciences (APS) β Technology and Therapeutic Platforms (Discovery Research).
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high productivity in the laboratory.
- Collaborate with medicinal chemistry teams by developing methods and providing technical guidance to solve analytical and purification problems.
- Innovate to develop efficient workflows for sample prioritization and client communication.
- Execute compound purification (milligram to gram scale) using preparative HPLC and/or SFC to support small-molecule drug discovery.
- Maintain analytical/preparative HPLC and SFC instrumentation; independently troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
- Proactively mentor colleagues; may supervise one or more direct reports.
- Stay current on literature/industry trends; propose and implement new initiatives for high-throughput purification and analytical technologies.
- Optimize purification workflow by effectively using equipment/personnel and enabling efficiency and new paradigms.
- Maintain scientific standards and safe laboratory practices.
- Keep accurate, current records per company policies.
Qualifications:
Basic:
- PhD or MS in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field (0+ yrs post-PhD; 8+ yrs post-MS; or 10+ yrs post-BS postdoc and/or pharma industry experience).
- Hands-on experience with analytical and preparative HPLC and/or SFC.
- Ability to operate/troubleshoot analytical and preparative instrumentation hardware/software.
- Knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry; effective communication with medicinal chemistry teams.
- Demonstrated chiral/achiral purification track record (mgβg scale) using multiple approaches/technologies.
- Proven written/verbal communication; ability to interact with scientists and engineers.
Preferred:
- Peptide analytical/purification experience.
- Fast-paced purification group experience and strong communication with Medicinal Chemistry.
- Reversed-phase HPLC experience; chiral separations using HPLC and SFC.
- Instrument development, automation, programming, and data analytics experience.
