Senior Scientist I

Role: Senior Scientist in small molecule synthesis and process development at a cardiovascular biopharma focusing on muscle biology and cardiac dysfunction. Objectives: drive development of robust, scalable manufacturing processes for small molecule drug substances, supporting clinical and commercial supply. Responsibilities: design and optimize synthetic routes, implement process characterization, collaborate with CDMO partners on tech transfer and scale-up, characterize process streams using analytical techniques, prepare technical reports, and support regulatory filings (e.g., IND). Qualifications: Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or related with 5+ years biotech/pharma experience (or M.S. with 8+ years), expertise in multi-step synthesis, process development, scale-up, and cGMP compliance; proficiency in analytical methods like HPLC, LC-MS, NMR; strong problem-solving and communication skills. High-value: small molecules, drug substance development, process scale-up from lab to manufacturing, cGMP, collaboration with cross-functional teams including Analytical, Formulation, Regulatory, and external manufacturing partners.
