Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join our histology team. Here you will advance our understanding of disease biology, contribute to target identification efforts, and work towards the discovery and optimization of new drugs. The work involves collaboration with a host of basic research scientists across multiple disciplines as well as the clinicians who bring our drugs to patients.

Internal job title: Senior Scientist I or Senior Scientist II

Location: Cambridge, MA

This position will be located at Cambridge, MA and will not have the ability to be located remote.

Responsibilities

  • Histology work to support the drug discovery process, including gross sectioning, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and digitization of slides.
  • Quantification of study results using automated image analysis programs (HALO, HALO AI).
  • Data analysis and documentation of experiments in lab notebook.
  • Presentation of results in lab and department meetings.
  • Assistance in writing research documents and publications.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other life science field
  • 3+ years of histology experience
  • Knowledge of histology techniques including tissue processing and sectioning, special stains, automated IHC, IF multiplex, ISH, and image analysis
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to quickly grasp new techniques
  • Knowledge of statistics and computational data analysis
  • Excellent team player, who demonstrates strong communication skills, creative problem-solving capabilities, and enjoys working in a collaborative matrixed environment
  • Exemplary laboratory practices and record keeping skills. Flexibility and aptitude for learning, with a passion to drive groundbreaking science

Desirable Qualifications

  • MS degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other life science field
  • Familiarity with animal models of atherosclerosis is a plus
