Position Summary:
Senior Scientist to join the Engineered Cell Therapy Discovery team to drive next-generation CAR T and eTCR therapies for patients with cancer and other chronic diseases. Independently participate and/or manage project workstreams; design and interpret complex studies of engineered T cell biology; translate results into science-driven decisions; serve as a technical point of contact and mentor more junior colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Characterize engineered CAR/eTCR T cells using T cell immunology knowledge (activation, signaling, differentiation, exhaustion, immune-regulation) and antibody properties.
- Design, coordinate, and execute screening and fine-mechanistic studies; leverage automation where applicable to prioritize candidates.
- Manage assigned project workstream deliverables; suggest protocol modifications/alternatives; use literature and internal datasets to solve problems.
- Interpret and synthesize complex datasets from flow cytometry, IncuCyte, MSD, and high-content imaging to guide follow-up and prioritize candidates.
- Lead multidisciplinary discussions/presentations; explain and build alignment.
- Mentor junior team members; may support technical contact; may contribute to patents/publications.
- Maintain electronic notebooks to support milestones and patent/regulatory filings.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s + 7+ years; or Master’s + 5+ years; or Ph.D. (Life Sciences) + 2+ years.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- T cell immunology/immuno-oncology; knowledge of adjacent disciplines.
- Drug discovery/development exposure; strong scientific/technical writing.
- Hands-on in vitro T cell engineering/assessment (viral transduction, targeted gene editing, MSD/ELISA, IncuCyte, multi-parameter flow, imaging).
- Experience analyzing complex datasets (e.g., NGS/multiparametric flow) using JMP, R, or programming.
- Independent problem-solving, strong project management across workstreams.
- Collaboration in cross-functional/matrix environments; critical/probabilistic thinking.
