Role Responsibilities:
- Apply creative thinking and scientific expertise to identify and validate therapeutic targets for improving weight loss and adipose tissue function.
- Conceptualize, design, and execute in vivo and in vitro experiments to support target discovery and active drug programs.
- Stay current with cutting-edge adipose research and implement new scientific/technical developments as needed.
- Participate on diverse scientific drug discovery teams to provide adipose and obesity expertise.
- Mentor junior scientists.
- Maintain accurate and timely experimental records in electronic notebooks and internal systems.
- Build and facilitate collaborations with academic and Pfizer partners.
- Present research findings through publications (peer-reviewed journals) and talks/posters at scientific meetings.
- Present and represent research programs to Pfizer leadership.
Qualifications:
Basic:
- PhD with postdoctoral training in metabolic disease research focused on adipose metabolism and physiology.
- Record of scientific accomplishments (publications and conference presentations).
- Deep expertise in adipose metabolism and cellular signaling pathways.
- Ability to contribute to multiple projects with learning agility and scientific rigor.
- Ability to critically review data and formulate novel hypotheses.
- Strong written/verbal communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Preferred:
- Experience with isotopic and radioactive tracer study design, execution, and interpretation.
- Experience with adipose inflammation and fibrosis.
