Role: Senior Scientist, Discovery Process Research focused on synthetic organic chemistry to enable therapeutic discovery within Johnson & Johnson's Innovative Medicine division. Responsibilities: conduct cutting-edge research to solve synthetic chemistry challenges across discovery projects, facilitate access to novel chemical space, and develop efficient synthesis routes for small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, and emerging modalities. Operate independently with a high degree of scientific decision-making at the interface of discovery and development, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams. Requirements: PhD in Synthetic, Organic, or Medicinal Chemistry (completion by Spring 2027); experience in methodology development, catalysis, total synthesis; proven research excellence through peer-reviewed publications; strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills; highly motivated with a commitment to lab work. Preferred: hands-on experience with high throughput experimentation, peptides, bioconjugates, ADCs, or proximity inducers. High-value: focus on early discovery chemistry, development of innovative synthetic solutions, and enabling diverse modalities in a biotech/pharma setting. Location: Spring House, PA.
