Senior Scientist, Discovery Biology

Role: Senior Scientist in Discovery Biology at BMS's Protein Homeostasis TRC, focusing on novel targeted protein degradation therapies for solid tumors in oncology. Responsibilities: formulate and test mechanistic hypotheses, develop and execute cellular assays, establish disease models (including 3D spheroids and organoids), and collaborate with informatics and translational teams for target validation and patient stratification. The role involves leading independent research efforts while supporting team-based projects and external collaborations. Qualifications: Ph.D. in cancer biology or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; broad expertise in cancer genetics, molecular and cell biology, including techniques like CRISPR, cloning, qPCR, Western blotting, FACS, and live-cell imaging. Preferred: experience with preclinical solid tumor models, targeted protein degradation technologies, and a publication record in cancer biology. High-value: focus on protein degradation therapeutics, tumor intrinsic vulnerabilities, resistance mechanisms, and work within a fast-paced, innovative research environment. The role is primarily bench-facing, based in San Diego, CA, with an emphasis on collaborative, cross-disciplinary scientific discovery.
