Senior Scientist - Computational Protein Design
What You Will Do
- Develop and deploy automated computational pipelines for large-scale binder design to create diverse design candidates and libraries across multiple targets, accelerating molecule generation used to probe novel biology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and automate ML protein design workflows for binder generation
- Build scalable pipelines for large libraries of de novo proteins across multiple targets
- Apply computational methods for multiplexed screening strategies and receptor discovery
- Design and prioritize binders for individual targets and large target panels
- Contribute shared tools, workflows, and best practices in protein design
- Collaborate with experimental scientists and data teams to enable rapid validation and iteration
Basic Qualifications
- PhD (Doctorate)
- OR PharmD
- OR MD with relevant post-doc experience in Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Bioengineering, Biophysics, Computer Science, or related discipline focused on protein design
- OR Master’s degree + 3 years protein design experience
- OR Bachelor’s degree + 5 years protein design experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Postdoc in computational/structural/protein design-related field
- Demonstrated computational protein design experience (e.g., minibinders and/or antibodies)
- Automated, scalable pipeline experience (ideally high-throughput)
- Familiarity with AI/ML protein design/structure tools (AlphaFold, ProteinMPNN, RFdiffusion, etc.)
- Strong Python/scripting skills for maintainable automation
- Experience with large libraries/multiplexed strategies (filtering, ranking, diversity optimization)
- Knowledge of structure–function, epitope targeting, and PPI design principles
- Experience integrating computational outputs with experimental validation (screening/directed evolution)
- Cloud/HPC/workflow orchestration familiarity
- Cross-functional collaboration and strong communication
