Senior Scientist – Labeled Compound Synthesis (LCS) (Rahway, NJ)
Responsibilities:
- Join collaborative teams to design and synthesize stable and radioactive isotope-labeled drug candidates and metabolites using modern organic synthesis, analytical methods, and emerging technologies.
- Develop novel isotope labeling methodologies to enable and accelerate drug discovery and development.
- Become a subject-matter expert in isotopically labeled compound synthesis, including GMP synthesis for human ADME studies.
- Apply complex molecule design, laboratory instrumentation, and problem-solving skills; develop new labeling approaches with creativity and adaptability.
- Plan and execute experiments; generate and analyze data; author clear reports and review others’ reports; properly dispose of lab waste.
Education Minimum Requirement (by June 2026 or earlier):
- Ph.D. in Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Sciences (or closely related).
- OR M.S. with at least 3 years industrial/pharmaceutical experience.
- OR B.S. with at least 5 years industrial/pharmaceutical experience.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with modern organic synthetic chemistry.
- Skilled in analytical and purification techniques (chromatography, crystallization).
- Ability to comply with safety/radiation safety, environmental, and GMP procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to develop/improve workflows and best practices.
Preferred:
- Experience with stable and/or radioactive isotopes.
- Experience synthesizing large molecules (peptides, RNAs, ADC-conjugates, etc.).
