Internal Job Title: Senior Scientist I / Senior Scientist II
Position Location: Onsite, La Jolla, CA

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute routine assays weekly for structure-activity relationship (SAR) definition.
- Design, develop, and optimize biophysical, biochemical, or cell-based assays for screening in high-density formats.
- Implement and manage automation solutions to improve assay throughput and data quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and workflows.
- Analyze, interpret, and present scientific data to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed laboratory records; contribute to research reports and publications; represent the team in internal presentations.

Essential Requirements / Qualifications:
- BS or MS (preferred) in a relevant scientific discipline; 4+ years assay development and high-throughput screening (recent PhD graduates with relevant experience considered).
- Deep expertise performing and troubleshooting biophysical assays.
- Proven ability validating high-throughput biochemical and/or cell-based assays.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.

Desirable Requirements:
- 2+ years related industry experience in biotech or Pharma (highly preferred).
- Experience integrating novel/emerging technologies into screening workflows.
- Familiarity with data analysis software and electronic laboratory management systems.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory automation platforms and liquid handling systems.

Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
- Salary range: $93,800–$174,200 (Senior Scientist I) or $98,700–$183,300 (Senior Scientist II); performance-based cash incentive; potential annual equity awards depending on level; US comprehensive benefits package and time off.
