Role Summary

Senior Scientist, Analytical Chemistry (LC-MS) at Regeneron Pharmaceutical's Analytical Chemistry Group in Tarrytown, NY. Lead analytical and biochemical characterization of therapeutic protein drug candidates using mass spectrometry to support all stages of drug development, with opportunities to develop innovative LC-MS technologies within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and communicate analytical characterization of biotherapeutics (including monoclonal and bispecific antibodies, Fc-fusion proteins, and other modalities) to support drug development.
  • Lead and deliver characterization activities to elucidate product quality attributes such as post-translational modifications, sequence variants, charge variants, size variants, and host cell proteins.
  • Foster inter-departmental collaborations to solve drug development issues.
  • Advance LC-MS analysis of biotherapeutics by developing technical innovations for future development needs and efficiency gains.
  • Document experiments, results, and findings in electronic laboratory notebook entries.
  • Present results during internal and external meetings.
  • Prepare and review regulatory submission documents (e.g., IND, comparability, BLA) and manuscripts for publication.
  • Serve as a team representative and provide analytical knowledge to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Required: PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related field.
  • Required: Proficiency in performing cell-based assays; strong preference for hands-on experience with primary cells and related techniques.
  • Desirable: Extensive experience with advanced mass spectrometers (Orbitrap, Q-TOF, Triple Quadrupole), liquid chromatography, and data processing software (Proteome Discoverer, Skyline, Protein Metrics, MaxQuant, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
