Senior Scientist

Role: Senior Scientist in mass spectrometry–based proteomics supporting Amgen's drug discovery efforts. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing high-throughput proteomics workflows, executing automated LC-MS/MS analyses, and advancing screening platforms to accelerate pipeline progress. The role involves collaboration with chemistry, biology, and disease teams to generate insights into target engagement and mechanisms of action, as well as data analysis and presentation. Qualifications: PhD in proteomics, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field; or Master’s with 4+ years, or Bachelor's with 6+ years of relevant experience. Preferred skills include expertise with advanced mass spectrometry platforms (e.g., Orbitrap Astral), automation of sample prep, quantitative data analysis, and experience in biotech/pharma industry R&D. High-value specifics include focus on proteomics assay development, platform innovation, and drug discovery support within oncology, inflammation, or rare diseases. The position is based in Thousand Oaks, CA, with an emphasis on collaborative scientific work and technical excellence.
