Role: Senior Scientist in Bioassay Development within AbbVie's CMC Biologics team, focusing on developing and optimizing complex bioassays and target-binding potency assays critical for biologic drug development. Responsibilities: collaborate cross-functionally with Discovery, CMC, QC, and QA teams to support drug development and IND submissions; qualify, validate, and transfer potency methods to external partners; author technical documents and explore new assay technologies through troubleshooting and optimization. Qualifications: MS in biology, biochemistry, or related fields with at least 1 year of industry or academic research experience in developing binding and cell-based functional potency assays for biologics such as mAbs or ADCs; familiarity with data analysis software and assay troubleshooting. Alternatively, a BS with 5+ years of relevant experience is acceptable. High-Value: biologics, monoclonal antibodies, ADCs, cell-based and non-cell-based potency assays, drug mechanism characterization, IND support, GxP, cGMP, and regulatory documentation. Work setup: onsite in South San Francisco, CA, five days per week.
