Role Summary
The Senior Sales Representative will drive sales growth within the academic sector, government agencies, and emerging biotech companies in the assigned territory. This role focuses on building and nurturing relationships with R&D professionals in academic institutions and smaller biotech firms, positioning solutions as essential tools for advancing mRNA modalities. The candidate will leverage a strong scientific background, sales expertise, and strategic acumen to identify opportunities, expand market share, and deliver innovative solutions to meet evolving customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Sales strategy and execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies and tactics to drive new customer acquisition and product adoption while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers.
- Customer relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers that align with research and development objectives, representing the Maravai and TriLink brands.
- Product and scientific knowledge: Maintain deep understanding of the product portfolio including reagents and services that support making mRNA; effectively communicate features, benefits, and applications to customers.
- Conduct presentations that demonstrate offerings and value to specific customer applications.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies; use knowledge to adapt sales strategies.
- Track sales activities, opportunities, and pipeline in SFDC; use dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to provide reports and forecasts.
- Collaborate with Senior Business Development manager, director, marketing, product development, and customer support teams.
- Perform other functions and duties as required.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorโs degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field with 5 years of experience in sales or business development within the life sciences or academic research sectors. An advanced degree or certification is preferred.
- Required: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Required: Strong knowledge of life sciences products and research methodologies, with emphasis on mRNA and enzymes.
- Required: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Required: Ability to build and maintain relationships with researchers and institutions.
- Required: Self-motivated with a strong drive for results and a proactive approach to sales.
- Required: Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
