Role Summary
Senior Research Associate, Biology on the Research team to help expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. Work with a multidisciplinary team to investigate therapeutics for neutrophil-mediated diseases across several pre-clinical projects, performing cell culture, in vitro assays, ex vivo processing, and various molecular biology techniques.
Responsibilities
- Culture primary cells and continuous cell lines to support in vitro/ex vivo experiments
- Perform in vitro assays, including compound screening and enzymatic assays; prepare formulations for in vivo studies
- Support ex vivo sample receipt, processing, and preparation for downstream analyses
- Perform molecular/cellular biology techniques, including flow cytometry, ELISA, and Western blotting
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation (e.g., plate readers, fluorescence microscopy)
- Analyze and interpret data using Excel, XLfit, FlowJo, and GraphPad Prism
- Maintain documentation of procedures and results via an electronic laboratory notebook
- Summarize outcomes and prepare presentations in PowerPoint
- Draft, review, and contribute to technical reports and study documentation; present findings in internal meetings
- Prepare and maintain reagents, buffers, and materials to support assays
Qualifications
- Required: Master’s degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related discipline, or Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical experience
- Required: Hands-on experience with cell culture and standard molecular biology assays (enzymatic assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, Western blot)
- Required: Experience isolating bone marrow cells from animals
- Required: Experience working with immune cells and hematopoietic stem cells
- Required: Experience with data processing, analysis, statistics, and data interpretation
- Required: Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team; high degree of organization and time management; strong verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred: Experience with cellular imaging instruments, fluorescence microscopes, and qPCR
- Preferred: Experience with automated liquid handling
