Role Summary
The Senior Regional Director (West) – Field Medical Directors (FMD) – Medical Affairs will support the National Director of the Field Medical Team by overseeing the day-to-day duties of the western regional field medical team and supporting national efforts. The role involves coordinating external collaborations and research with healthcare providers and academicians, maintaining internal partnerships, and leading special projects within the national FMD team. The SRD will develop regional and national strategies to support compliant relationships with opinion leaders, research collaborators, and key organizations in support of BeiGene development pipelines, with a focus on malignant hematology and potential coordination with solid tumor/HEOR teams as needed.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily clinical and administrative activities of the Field Medical Team while providing executive-level support for MA leadership
- Establish and maintain scientifically credible and compliant peer-to-peer relationships with national and regional opinion leaders and other healthcare providers
- Facilitate and monitor strategic partnerships with scientific/clinical experts; serve as a point of contact with organizations including guideline development, cooperative groups, and National Cancer institutions
- Provide feedback to internal stakeholders on emerging clinical and scientific trends
- Assist or oversee the development and execution of regional medical meetings (e.g., advisory boards, consultant and investigator meetings)
- Build strong relationships with internal experts and work cross-functionally to achieve company goals
- Identify continuous process improvement opportunities
- Develop, track, execute and report on FMD goals and objectives
- Support Medical Affairs budget planning and management
- Be accountable for compliant business practices
Role
- Help ensure activities are executed within scope, budget, and timelines per region
- Support the establishment and growth of Investigator Initiated & Collaborator Research Programs
- Provide strategic support for clinical development trials upon request
- Support Medical Affairs advisory boards and symposia
- Support medical conferences/congresses
- Provide training support for MA staff and for training of commercial colleagues
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Clinical, Marketing, and Sales
Qualifications
- PharmD, PhD, or MD preferred. Advanced degree (Nurses, NPs, PAs, or Master’s in life sciences) with pharmaceutical industry and clinical research experience also eligible
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication; professional, respectful, concise
- Ability to interact with external research collaborators and strategic business partners
- Proficiency with computer tools (Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel); PC and iPad literacy
Travel
Willingness to travel 50-60% of the time
