Senior Process Operator

Position Summary:
Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment to safely deliver high-quality products. Work with operators, technicians, and leads to troubleshoot issues and keep production running.
Responsibilities:
- Lead equipment changeovers and start-of-batch activities with accurate documentation and safe handover.
- Operate, clean, and maintain production equipment per SOPs and batch documentation.
- Monitor process performance and product quality; escalate issues and support root cause resolution.
- Use production systems/basic data tools to record performance, identify trends, and support improvements.
- Coach and train colleagues on safety practices/procedures.
- Support continuous improvement to increase safety, quality, and equipment efficiency.
- Prepare equipment/materials according to batch instructions and SOPs.
- Operate machinery and perform processes (e.g., machining, chemical processing, formulation, visual inspection, assembly, packaging).
- Monitor meters/gauges/valves/temperatures/pressures to ensure spec compliance.
- Meet production schedules and targets while following safety and GMP.
- Handle/move/pack/sort materials and finished goods; monitor output quality and escalate defects.
- Complete daily production records; perform minor maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions; collaborate with maintenance.
- Maintain safety, hygiene, and compliance for inspection readiness.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years production/process operator experience.
- 3+ years in a regulated manufacturing environment (or equivalent).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with equipment changeovers and start-of-batch activities.
- Demonstrated batch documentation and SOP compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree/technical certificate.
- On-the-job training certification across multiple work centers.
- Mechanical aptitude; ability to read gauges/instrumentation.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office) and production systems experience.
- Data-driven troubleshooting/process improvement.
- Experience training others and contributing to written work instructions.
Physical/Workplace:
- On-site; shift work in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Wear protective gear; noise/moving equipment.
- Lift up to 40 lbs; frequent kneeling/climbing/standing.
- Work extended shifts up to 12.5 hours; overtime as needed.
