Role Summary

Senior Process Operator (3rd Shift) at Zebulon, USA - North Carolina. Operates and cleans equipment according to SOPs, JSAs and batch documents to deliver high quality products safely. Monitors equipment for rejects, performs changeovers to design specifications, and acts as SME for systems interaction and operations. Leads development of standards to increase business results.

Responsibilities

  • Operates, challenges, replenishes consumables, cleans equipment, and performs duties in accordance with cGMPs, Batch Documentation, SOPs, ZSPs and JSAs; maintains inspection readiness with minimal supervision.
  • Monitors equipment for excessive rejects/stoppages and escalates issues affecting product quality, safety, or line performance.
  • Applies GSK Production System standards (5s, standard work, problem solving, Gemba, process confirmations, performance management) toward zero accidents, zero defects, zero waste.
  • Participates in performance management entry, problem solving steps, and maintains OSW and 5S.
  • Delivers against safety, quality, waste and performance objectives; identifies opportunities for process improvement or alternative operating methods to increase efficiency.
  • Acts as an expert on operations/process; troubleshoots and resolves minor production stoppages.
  • Maintains high quality and high quantity output; knowledgeable about job responsibilities.
  • Utilizes systems/applications required for job performance (e.g., DELTA, my Learning, Free Weigh, DISY, Active Plant, IP21, SAP basic transactions).
  • Collaborates with associates, assistants and technicians to troubleshoot issues and relay information to supervision.
  • Describes technological theory of operation, product flow, and the function of sensors and instrumentation.
  • Conducts equipment set up/changeovers and starts batch activities to designed specifications; certifies on multiple technologies as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years' experience in Production Operator role
  • 3+ years' experience working at GSK
  • OJT certified in all work centers in packaging or majority of manufacturing centers
  • Demonstrated performance in all Process Operator roles

Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent education (Preferred)

Skills

  • Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills
  • Advanced computer skills; MS Word and MS Excel
  • Proficient use of basic hand tools
  • Ability to work accurately with figures and information
  • Mechanically inclined; ability to read gauges/instrumentation and operate production equipment
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to create and follow detailed documentation
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Additional Requirements

  • Physical ability to climb, kneel, stoop, balance, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work overtime; PPE required; manufacturing environment with noise and moving parts
  • Ability to work up to 12.5 hours in one shift
